About

Hello!  As you’ve probably figured out by now, my name is Tim.  I am a web and multimedia developer located in Los Angeles, CA.  I graduated University of California, Santa Barbara in 2008 with a degree in Computer Science.  At the age of 14 I discovered Macromedia’s Flash 4, which was the first time I found a tool that truly allowed me to express my creative ideas in a visual and interactive manner and share them with the world.  What at first was simply an animation tool, eventually became my introduction to programming.  Flash animation was also my “gateway drug” to 3D modeling and animation using Maya, which I spent a considerable amount of my free time senior year developing my skills in.  By the time college came around, I had spent thousands of hours learning the ins and outs of Flash, Maya, Premiere, and Photoshop.

Due to the fact that the majority of my experience was in the multimedia/design side of things, I decided to balance out my knowledge base by studying Computer Science at UCSB.  Throughout my four years there, I continued to flex my creative muscles by doing freelance design and front end development work and by entering several online video competitions, and even won the grand prize in ConocoPhillips’ My 76 Video contest which earned me a $20,000 scholarship as well as real life experience through doing further contract work for ConocoPhillips.

After I graduated college I immediately started as a Flash/Flex Developer for a startup called Mindflash, where I worked for over 3 years and learned all about being a part of an Agile team, and was able to use my creativity and attention to detail to solve many UI development problems and more.
